Take part in the third part of the Tales of Rebellion storyline as you join the Chimera Alliance to retake the fortress that has been claimed by Erzebet, together with the aide of Fu Huo. Over the course of three weeks, each week will feature a different chapter of this subjugation, from escorting Ilma the blacksmith against Fu Huo's forces, to pillaging Draconite, to confronting the corrupted Erzebet. Partake in this event to get access to exclusive rewards for all of your heroes.
Take note that the fortress is planned to be fully overtaken by January 28th, so claim your rewards of pillaging the fortress spearheaded by Erzebet and Fu Huo before that date.
Overview[]
Inspired by the Samurai and Viking rebellions, the one who was once known as Holden Cross has finally decided to step in. Forming an alliance with warriors from all factions, the newly returned Gryphon calls for Ilma's help to strike the Order of Horkos in Ashfeld. Ilma masters the craft of forging Draconite weaponry to help the Alliance. Yet the Knights of Horkos, together with their Wu Lin allies, have also made their own discoveries about the Corruption and are ready to use them against those who defy them.
Event Game Mode[]
Rescue 3[]
"Conquer zones and protect the Blacksmith from the warriors of Horkos to reclaim the fortress! Use the Draconite Weapon against Corrupted enemies!"
Band together with fellow players in escorting Ilma the mysterious Blacksmith into Erzebet's Fortress. Take note though, aside from the Horkos sending their corrupted warriors to stop you from advancing, the fortress itself has been contaminated by Draconite. So make your advance carefully as you protect Ilma.
Rescue 3 is a modified version of the Emperor's Escape game mode from the Zhanhu's Gambit event. You will have to escort Ilma, who will act as a companion with an AI of a Guardian, starting from the Attacker sewer breach of the Forge map, up to the waterwheel area, back down into the mine track area of the map, up to the Foundry location, and finally to the Defender Courtyard where Fu Huo are stationed. However, you cannot progress too quickly as the fortress is encapsulated in poisonous fumes from all the corrupted Draconite, which you have to purify one zone at a time. On top of this, you will have to face special Knight and Wu Lin Horkos warriors in each zone, until you eventually meet Fu Huo at the last zone. For specific details on the gamemode, check here.
Rescue 3 will be much like Rescue 2, where your team will have access to the Draconite weapon at the end of every odd-number zone captured (Zones 1, 3, and 5) which can be brought to the next zone. In retaliation, the Horkos will send their own Horkos Warrior that has Corrupted Armor (spawning in the next zone), making them impenetrable unless hit by the Draconite weapon, and the Uninterruptible trait. While any of the Draconite weapon's attack will remove the Corrupted Armor, it will only remove the Armor for 5 seconds. Compared to Rescue 2 though, Horkos Warriors with Corrupted Armor will spawn in both the capture zone and the zone where Ilma will be in, requiring the user of the Draconite weapon to move to-and-fro between the zones to eliminate the Armored warriors.
Along side the normal Horkos warriors, there are corrupted Horkos warriors who will feature increased damage and inflict Bleed with every strike. The following is the list of zones and what enemies your team will encounter during the game:
- Zone 1: You will face a group of Officers (Officers are executable Captains) and Pikemen. This is the only zone where Pikemen will spawn.
- Zone 2: This zone features some Officers together with two Horkos Followers (lvl 1 Warmonger bots), half of them being corrupted. Every other wave, one of these followers will have Corrupted Armor instead. In the capture zone, both Horkos Followers will spawn with Corrupted Armor every other wave.
- Zone 3:This zone features some Officers together with two Horkos Archons (lvl 2 Zhanhu bots), half of them being corrupted.
- Zone 4: This zone features an Officer together with two Horkos Archons (lvl 2 Centurion bots), half of them being corrupted. In Ilma's Zone, every other wave will feature instead a Horkos Archon with Corrupted Armor and a Horkos Guardian. In the capture zone, the Horkos Archons in every other wave will have Corrupted Armor instead.
- Zone 5: This zone features Officers together with with two Horkos Strategos (lvl 2 Conqueror bot), half of them being corrupted.
- Final Zone: Fight Fu Huo, who will be highly corrupted with high health, have Corrupted Armor, deal bleed damage and is a level 3 bot. Together with her will be Horkos Guardians (one who will always have Corrupted Armor), with a Horkos Strategos (lvl 2 Centurion bot) spawning in independently with Corrupted Armor.
Pillage 3[]
"Kill soldiers to collect Draconite. Secure your Draconite in the Draconite Zones to gain them permanently for your team. Reach 1000 Draconite to break the enemy team, then kill them all to win. Beware of Corrupted Enemies. Use the Draconite Weapon against them!"
Now that you have secured a place inside of Erzebet's Fortress, pillage what Draconite you can from the Horkos. The enemy have been collecting these crystals to increase their power, so cut their supplies off. The Horkos will also be sending their own warriors to save what resources they can, so beat them to the punch!
Pillage 3 is a modified version of the Soul Rush game mode from the Shadows of the Hitokiri event. You will partake in a specialized 4v4 gamemode where your team is pitted against the Horkos in collecting Draconite by killing Horkos miners spawned on the field and deposit their gains to the deposits. The map will be Forge again, using the entire length of the field for combat unlike previous versions of the game mode which shrunk the field down by removing access to the areas of the map which are typically the spawn points. For specific details on the gamemode, check here.
Similar to Pillage 2, there will only be one Deposit which will be located in the midlane Mine Tracks closer to the Horkos's side, with the Draconite weapon spawning above it just outside the Foundry. However, there will be two Warmonger leaders, Lethe and Mahkai, who will spawn on the field. The both of them will have Corrupted Armor, being uninterruptible until they lose their armor, and unlike Rhamnusia in Pillage 2, the both of them will be on the offense instead of sitting on guard at the Deposit; they will still have the extended 72 second respawn timer Rhamnusia had. With the two other Horkos warriors being corrupted (deal bleed damage with every hit) just like before, your team should make it a priority to pick up the Draconite weapon to fend off both Lethe and Mahkai to then deal with the two other warriors with ease.
Overthrow 3[]
"Defend the Blacksmith while she forges a Draconite Scythe with Heavy, Zone Attacks and Feats. Use this new weapon to defeat the Horkos leader."
With the forge setup once more, Ilma is back again... but with new discoveries! She has made improvements to what the Draconite Weapon is capable of, so protect her as she crafts the weapon. The Horkos Leader, Erzebet, and the other Knight Horkos will be in for a surprise...!
Overthrow 3 is based off the Overthrow gamemode, which is its own gamemode with some borrowed features from older events, such as the use of a special weapon which was first featured during the Wrath of the Jormungandr event. The gamemode plays in two parts: in the first part, you will need to protect Ilma as she is forging the Draconite weapon from waves of Knight Horkos; in the second part, you will use the Draconite weapon to attack Erzebet and her fellow Warmonger allies until the Draconite weapon breaks, whereafter you will go back to Ilma who will reforge the weapon. You will perform these tasks three times, where on the third time you will finally kill Erzebet. For specific details on the gamemode, check here.
Ilma and her forge will be situated inside of the Foundry of the Forge map, as she has repurposed the original heated forge into her own personal one that is overflowing with molten Draconite. Meanwhile, Erzebet will be located below in the midlane of the map at minetrack mid.
While defending Ilma, the Knight Horkos will be grouped up in waves: the first set of enemies will be Peacekeeper warriors; the second, after depleting a third of Erzebet's health, will be Lawbringer warriors; lastly, after depleting Erzebet's health to only a third left, you will face Gladiator warriors. One out of four of these warriors will be Corrupted, dealing bleed damage. When facing Erzebet, she will always be accompanied with two Warmongers, both wearing Corrupted Armor; the first wave will be Asbestos, the second will be Rhamnusia, and the last will be Sabaktes.
As an enemy, Erzebet will attack much like a commander, blocking some attacks, but mostly staying on the offense when approached (won't execute if she lands a Heavy on you or an ally). She will often use her bash abilities and Bulwark Slash to fend off you and your allies.
The Draconite Weapon has been upgraded once more, reaching its third stage. On top of the Heavy Attack and Zone Attack offered by the Second Stage, the Third Stage features its own unique set of Feats: Draconite Aura and Draconite Blast.
- Draconite Aura will create an aura around the wielder for 10 seconds, offering ~30% damage reduction and Uninterruptible Stance to all nearby allies (but not to the wielder). This Feat has a 30 second cooldown.
- Draconite Blast has the wielder throw a grenade that will call in a rain of Pure Draconite, dealing 20 damage to all enemies and removing their Draconite Armor in a large area. However, for the Warmonger allies, they will also be paralyzed as they become encased in a Draconite cage for 5 seconds, before being released; while they are encased, they are vulnerable to damage. This feat has a 60 second cooldown.
Both are great tools in fighting Erzebet and her entourage, especially with the fact that all three of them will be covered in Draconite Armor. Just like before, attacks from the Draconite Weapon will only remove the Draconite Armor off of Erzebet or her Warmonger allies for 5 seconds before they regain them.
Map Changes[]
The event takes place on the Forge map, as that has become Erzebet's fortress. Just like in the live game's version of the map, the map is overtaken by the Horkos, but this is taken up to eleven as it is heavily infested by Draconite with the moon looming in the sky, creating a solar eclipse that crosses the sky. Both the waterwheel and foundry area (side capture zones in Dominion) have had their hazards and obstructions minimized.
Other Changes[]
Event Rewards[]
Unlike before, this Tales of Rebellion event offers only a few new in-game reward. While there is no Event Pass, there will be new symbols and event mode exclusive embossing to collect, along with the return of the Chimera weapon visuals that were collectable in Tales of Rebellion Part 2. All of these rewards are collectible as a drop.
While there are no cosmetic sets to purchase as a bundle this time around, there are two new cosmetics in the form of the Chimera Pacifist mythic outfit and the Chimera Salvation execution. The mythic outfit emulates a warrior who has chosen to be a pacifist, being graced by the flowers in the wind. The execution showcases the executioner ripping out a piece of Draconite from their corrupted victim's chest, only to then crush it to relieve the foe of corruption. While the mythic outfit is here to stay, the execution will only be available until the end of the event.
