The Nordic Empire was a polity that once occupied the land of Valkenheim a millenium ago. However, they were swallowed up by the Earth and seemingly vanished.[1]
Overview[]
Before the Cataclysm, rulers of Norse civilization built a great Nordic Empire in the icy tundra known as Valkenheim. However, when it struck,, the Earth swallowed up this empire and a majority of its citizens.[1] The few survivors of the event would eventually become the Vikings, and began to sail for distant shores, until returning at some point to drive the Knights back to their home of Ashfeld.[2] It is unknown of how big the scope or the power of the Nordic Empire actually was. Recently however rainfall in the continent began to uncover the ruins of their once great civilization.[1]
Much of these ruins included vast statues of old Nordic heroes, some of which were unknown to the Vikings. Other signs of the Empire came in the forms of runestones that dot the landscape of the snowy tundra, and massive canyons that could hold old secrets of how this once vast Empire could have lived.
Trivia[]
- The Nordic Empire might be based on the North Sea Empire, an actual Viking empire in real-life history instead of fantasy. It serves the same role as the Empire that the Knights originate from.
