Trivia[]
- The name "Hadeus" may refer to one of two star systems:
- Zeta Aurigae, traditionally known as Sadatoni (also known as "Haedus" I), is a binary star in the northern constellation of Auriga. Based upon parallax measurements made during the Hipparcos mission, this system is approximately 790 light-years (240 parsecs) distant from the sun. It has a combined apparent visual magnitude of 3.75, which is bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. [1]
- Eta Aurigae, officially named "Haedus" II, is a star in the northern constellation of Auriga. With an apparent visual magnitude of 3.18, it is visible to the naked eye. Based upon parallax measurements made during the Hipparcos mission, this star is approximately 243 light-years (75 parsecs) distant from the Sun. [2]
- The etymology of "Haedus" comes from the Proto-Italic word *haidos, it's probably a loanword from a pre-Indo-European substrate language due to the fact that it cannot be derived from any known root. The only sure cognate is the Proto-Germanic word *gaits meaning “goat”. [3]
