Dante was a Lawbringer who is mentioned in For Honor.
Overview[]
Decades before when the For Honor Campaign takes place, there was a Lawbringer called Dante, who lived in Highcliff Castle.
One year, a great Viking horde from Valkenheim descended on a poor scrublands village in the Ashfeld. There were not enough Iron Legionaries to defend everywhere at once, so Dante visited the village to see if the people needed protection from these Vikings, naturally as Lawbringers are meant to uphold the law where law cannot be held. He judged their people unworthy of defending and rode away to safer lands. When the Vikings came, few in the village survived. This was the village of a young girl, the future warlord who would eventually be known as Apollyon.
When she was sixteen, she hired a mercenary to find Dante for abandoning her people, specifically ordering him to be spared, stating "he is my prey. You are merely my eyes." The mercenary found out Dante was ridding with the Repax Legion, and this led to his location being discovered. When she found where Dante had been hiding, she ambushed him, dragged him into the street to then brutally execute him. Afterwards, she brought his armor to a blacksmith and had it re-fashioned to fit her. Even in the present, she wears it still. It is a warning against anyone who would dare to use the law against the strong.
Personality[]
Dante was presumably a powerful Lawbringer, if Apollyon felt that he could have single handedly defended her village from Viking invaders. But in reality, Dante was a pompous coward who felt that her village was not worthy of protecting, and then hiding when Apollyon hunted him down.
Trivia[]
- The Tormented Arbiter gear style is similar to that worn by Apollyon, particularly when looking at the shoulder plates, the chest piece and the greaves. It is highly likely that this set was the one worn by Dante.
- It is possible that he is a member of the Iron Legion, and that he single handedly rode out to Apollyons village to help.
