I’ve noticed how pessimistic the comment sections are about the game, claiming that the overtuned stunning tap has completely ruined the game for them and that they’re mostly migrating to Mordhau even though these 2 games are extremely different. I felt like sharing this with you because it’s got me worried about For Honor.
For honor = Mordhau
Mordhai (don't judge) better as FH in every way
Oh right right, my bad light lmao had a few
These complaints of spam and in this case: the stunning tap, come from people unable to react to it.
This all started when time snap was removed and only worsened when they sped up everyone’s attack speed.
So speeding up everyone isn’t a solution obviously, it’s part of the problem and that’s all the devs are doing: 400ms lights and hyper armour for everyone!
As for not being able to react to attacks being perfectly fine? Not really...
Not being able to react should come from mind games and speed, I’ve been in many martial arts tournaments and there’s no such thing as not being able to react and the fact that fighters can block and parry punches indicate this.
Then again there’s no such thing as latency in a real fight either... but I hardly think that alienating lesser skilled players is a solution.
As for the thought of slowing it down? Why not? The game worked perfectly fine on release and I enjoy my current wins using Nobushi and her 500ms lights more than I do with others. Indeed, I had more fun and it felt more rewarding when won knowing my enemies can react to me.
That’s pvp in these type of games, mind games, otherwise a first person shooter or arcade hack and slash is better suited which is not what For Honor is.
This game was not a spam fest on launch and speeding everyone up along with giving them certain gimmicks like hyper armour takes away from the game.
You’ve heard many complaints of how these characters aren’t “fun” anymore and it was “more rewarding” before the rework. You’ve even hear Salt say how she doesn’t want Nobushi to have 400ms lights, and I agree with her.
By speeding up this game and removing the defensive elements you’re rewarding brain dead stupidity and spamming instead of skilled gameplay and thinking that was needed on launch.
That’s just how I feel about it, clearly not everyone will agree and indeed some seem to prefer the spam fest...
So people leaving for Mordhau are clearly not differentiating For Honor from it anymore and that should be the first warning.
This game needs to go back to its roots, before the 400ms and hyper armour for all.
I made a Post n a Vote post for this matter..
Its about increasing n Decreasing the stamina cost of Light attacks n Heavie attacks. For All heros, not just Raider.
But unfortunally #Lunar Decided to Delete my Voting post.
Well. I would like to hear what you think about the Heavies n Light Stamina costs.
If stunning tap hits you, it does slight damage, takes your stam to half and blinds you so its pretty good. It also sets up other things and is fast.
I tend to sit on parrying it early which gets me hit by heavies sometimes, but I parry it very consistently. The reason I do this is because it gives a huge payoff. They generally end up out of stam, and even if they're not, I get a free heavy starter - which pretty much means the end.
Now, if they do land a tap - I have a few tricks to help me manage. One, if the screen zooms in, I counter GB. Two, now focus on defending your sides. If they couple the tap with the zone, they're going to end up out of stam - so just be patient. As long as you don't die, they will either have to back off, go with more lights, or raw heavy mixups. Either way, its nothing you can't deal with.
Well that's a shame I'd like to see the results. @Vikings
Lunar Re-created it he just wasn't able to see that the First post was a Poll.
But know you should be able to see both of them, the latest one is the Description n made for dialogs n discussions, the first post is the Poll ;)
What do you think?
